Proactive soil preparation plays an important role in supporting successful strawberry production.
Through pre-plant soil fumigation, TriCal New Zealand helps growers establish healthier growing environments that support crop performance and long-term productivity from the ground up.
Soil fumigation helps manage soilborne pests and diseases while supporting a healthier growing environment for improved plant vigor, uniformity, and crop performance throughout the season
It was a pleasure welcoming Florida Watermelon Queen Shanie Keene to our Palmetto Irrigation Hub.
Our team gave Shanie a behind-the-scenes look at our warehouse inventory, filtration solutions, and automation systems that help support growers in the field. We also discussed low-rate soil fumigation in watermelon crops and how Chloropicrin can support beneficial soil microbes, improve soil conditions, and help drive stronger yield potential.

Summer means watermelons! But did you know that watermelons, cantaloupes, and other melons are highly susceptible to plant-parasitic nematodes? This is particularly true in warm, sandy production regions like Florida, Georgia, California, and Texas.
Left unmanaged, nematodes can damage roots, reduce water and nutrient uptake, and increase susceptibility to soilborne diseases such as Fusarium wilt.
That’s why many growers trust pre-plant soil prep with TELONE™ by Teleos soil fumigant, often in combination with chloropicrin. TELONE™ helps manage nematodes deep in the soil profile, while chloropicrin helps suppress soilborne diseases—creating a protective zone where roots can establish and thrive.
TELONE™ supports healthy root systems, improved crop quality, increased marketable yields, and stronger return on investment.
Each stage of cultivation reflects the care, dedication and commitment that make quality agricultural production possible.
At Trical South America accompanies the development of crops from their early stages, promoting responsible practices that contribute to the healthy growth of strawberries and the strengthening of agriculture in South America. The future of each harvest begins with constant work in the field.

Meet Jerome Bateup, one of the employees of TriCal Australia.
Jerome has been with the company for two years as a Soil Fumigator based out of Bayswater, Victoria, where he is responsible for delivering and applying soil fumigants. Throughout his time with TriCal Australia, Jerome has developed professionally in many ways, including learning from experienced fumigators how to safely handle and manage products, monitor and maintain gas systems during application, and better understand correct soil preparation and local weather conditions in relation to soil suitability and application timing.
His day-to-day work varies from delivering products to customers, receiving, storing and dispatching goods from the yard, and travelling locally or interstate to conduct applications.
According to Jerome, the best part of his job is working alongside experienced people, giving him confidence in achieving great results for customers. One thing he wishes others understood about his role is the importance of soil health management.
When Jerome is not working, he enjoys spending time with his partner and one-year-old son, reading, running, and watching sports. This year, the thing he is looking forward to most is marrying his partner.
Jerome is just one of the many people who help keep TriCal Australia running every day. Thanks to Jerome, and many others like him, TriCal Australia continues supporting growers with science-based soil solutions that help promote healthy soil and long-term productivity.
Late-season spraying takes precision, and the Reddick Lay-By Sprayer is built to deliver. With accurate nozzle placement, smooth performance in rough conditions, and multiple row sizes available, it’s a dependable solution for cotton and other mature crops.
