Spring applications for onions are underway across the PNW. Onions are very susceptible to nematode damage, so a grower's best defense is managing nematodes before they become a problem.
In the PNW specifically, growers often use a blend of TELONE™ by Teleos soil fumigant and chloropicrin—the first to manage nematodes, and the latter to help with certain soilborne diseases, such as fusarium wilt and pink root (as seen in the photo).
A TELONE™/chloropicrin blend or co-application not only defends against nematodes/soilborne diseases, but can also enhance root growth, allowing onions to develop in an environment with less pest pressure.
By protecting the root zone during the critical first weeks of growth, TELONE™ creates optimal conditions for stronger, healthier roots, with the potential for larger bulbs, higher yields, and better-quality onions.
Set yourself up for a successful onion season with TELONE™ by Teleos, and remember, there's no coming back from a poor start!
