Strong Roots. Strong Plants.

The right rootstock can make all the difference.

Tri-Hishtil works with growers to match rootstock options with the right variety, cultural practice, and field challenges. For grafted watermelon plants, rootstock options include interspecific hybrid squash and Carolina Strongback, with benefits that may include strong vigor, improved disease resistance, and rootstock-dependent nematode resistance.

Grafted plants help growers build a stronger foundation for the season, supporting reduced susceptibility to soil-borne diseases, improved plant vigor, positive yield potential, and better crop performance.

Strong Roots. Strong Plants.

Tri-Hishtil brings together three pioneers in the agricultural industry from around the world to the Mountains of North Carolina to become a leader in plant grafting. Grafting is a very detailed procedure whereby a growth booster (the rootstock) is combined with a promise (the scion). The actual grafting of vegetables with soft tissue stems is an extremely sensitive process, but results in a strong plant with resistance against specific soil-borne diseases.
